Frequently Asked Questions
We proudly sail the Amsterdam canals every day to provide you with an “unforgettable canal tour”. To give the best possible experience, we would like to answer all your questions. Didn’t find what you were looking for? We are always ready to help you with questions about our daily cruises or renting a sloop. To do this, please immediately contact us !
What is the boarding location?
We advise you to keep an eye on the website for our current boarding point.
On which days do you sail?
In principle, we sail every day between 12:00 and 18:00. This can change due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, so we always advise you to check the website for the most up-to-date information on the day of your cruise.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased via our website and on board on site. However, if you want to be sure of a spot, we recommend that you purchase a ticket in advance to avoid disappointment.
How can I pay on board?
You can pay cash on board, but also with your bank card. We accept all debit and credit cards.
How long in advance do I have to be at the quay?
Make sure you are present 10 minutes before departure so that the boat can depart on time.
How long does the cruise take?
Our canal cruise takes 60 to 75 minutes during regular shipping. This may differ for special events such as Amsterdam Light Festival or Valentine’s Day. It can also be very busy at times during the peak season, which can cause a slight delay.
Are your boats open?
Yes! Floating Amsterdam boats are open sloops. If it rains, the boats have a convertible top, so that it is possible to sail covered.
And what about bad weather?
In case of precipitation we have special cabrio hoods that we can do over the sloops. There are transparent “windows” in the hoods so that you don’t have to miss out on the highlights of Amsterdam. In cold weather we have a heater and electrically heated blankets on board. If the weather conditions are really bad and angry, we are unfortunately forced to cancel the cruise due to safety reasons. We therefore advise you to always consult the website for the latest updates on the day of your canal cruise.
Is there a guide on board?
The skipper and hostess on board are not only there to sail and serve snacks or drinks, but are also your guide. They know all about Amsterdam and will inform you about the history and fun facts about the city during the tours. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them! They are happy to help you or advise you.
What do I get to see during the cruise?
During regular shipping, we will visit, among others, the NEMO museum, the Magere Brug, Hermitage, Theater Carré and we will cruise the Amstel. The route can deviate during special events or very busy days.
Can I bring food and drinks on the boat myself?
Unfortunately you are not allowed to consume your own drinks on board. We do have a bar on board where you can buy snacks and drinks for normal prices. We sell different types of wine, beer, soft drinks and spirits. In addition, we serve various small snacks, both sweet and savory.
Is smoking allowed on board?
In principle, smoking is allowed on board if the convertible top is not over the boat and, above all, if the other guests are not bothered.
Can my buggy or wheelchair be taken in the boat?
In principle, a folding buggy or wheelchair can be taken on board. Unfortunately we do not have a lift on the quay, so this must be taken into account when transferring from the mainland to the boat. Give us a call before your arrival, and we’ll see how we can make your cruise as comfortable as possible.
