Didn’t find what you were looking for? We are always ready to help you with questions about our daily cruises or renting a boat with captain and host(ess). Please contact us.

What is the boarding location?

During the Amsterdam Light Festival the boarding location is Stationsplein 30 (at Central Station).

On which days do you float?

In high season (May to September), we generally float every day between noon and 6pm. This can change due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, so we advise you to always check the website on the day of your cruise for the most up-to-date information.

Outside the high season please check our ticket page for availability.

During the Amsterdam Light Festival we have evening tours.

Book your tickets in time to be sure of a place on the boat.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased through our website and on board. However, if you want to be sure of a seat on board we advise you to purchase a ticket in advance to avoid disappointment.

How can I pay on board?

You can pay cash on board but also by card. We accept all credit cards.

How long in advance do I have to be at the location?

Please be there 15 minutes before departure so that the boat can leave on time.

How long does the cruise last?

During the regular cruise, our canal cruise lasts 60 minutes. This may differ for special events such as the Amsterdam Light Festival or Valentine’s Day. It can also be very busy at times during high season, which can cause a slight delay.

Are your boats open?

Yes! The boats of Floating Amsterdam are open sloops. If it should rain the boats can use their convertible roof so you will stay dry and comfortable.

And what about bad weather?

When it rains, we have special convertible tops that we can use. The tops have transparent “windows” so you won’t miss anything of the highlights of Amsterdam.

In case of cold weather we have e-heated blankets on board. If the weather conditions are really bad, we are unfortunately forced to cancel the cruise for safety reasons. We therefore advise you to always consult the website on the day of your canal cruise for the latest updates.

Is there a guide on board?

The captain and host(ess) are not only there to float the boat and serve snacks or drinks, but they are also your guides. They know everything about Amsterdam and will inform you during the tours about the history and fun facts of the city. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! They are happy to help you or advise you.

What do I get to see during the cruise?

During regular tours, we (among other things) pass by the NEMO museum, the Skinny Bridge, Hermitage, Theatre Carré, the 7 bridges and we float across the Amstel. The route may deviate during special events or very busy days.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to consume your own drinks and snacks on board. We do have a royal bar on board where snacks and drinks can be purchased for reasonable prices.

Is smoking allowed on board?

In principle, smoking is allowed on board if the convertible top is not being used and above all, if the other guests are not bothered by it.

Can my buggy or wheelchair be taken in the boat?

You can leave a folding buggy or wheelchair with our host at the pier. Unfortunately we do not have a lift, so this must be taken into account when transferring from the mainland to the boat. Give us a call before you come and we will see how we can make your cruise as comfortable as possible.

Can I bring my dog on board?

Please contact our office to discuss whether your dog can join you. This depends on various factors
